WHAT ADM USERS SAY:
A professor at a leading research university:
I am a college professor and I have used ADM since its inception. I consider that the release of ADM
version 2.0 really is a major accomplishment. I think I have tried nearly every application developed
to organize my knowledge base which covers a twenty-five year period. ADM is a superb software achievement.
I use it to organize literally thousands of files rel! ating to teaching and research. It has enormous scope.
You can use it as a document manager, as a presentation tool or in the preparation of reports and basic
office functions. It is easy to learn and enables you to interact seamlessly between your regular applications
and the outlining format. You do not have to stop what you are doing to tend to outline development. ADM 2.0
places this software at the very top of its category and I believe that it can quickly and significantly
improve the performance of any user.
-Barry Greene PhD
A Knowledge Management Expert:
ADM surprised and pleased me. There are hundreds of tools available for personal capture and organization
of information, but ADM is the first I have encountered that combines those two critical productivity
functions in a way that makes sense. Capturing information from Web pages and files on disk with ADM was
so easy that I found myself saying, "Wait a minute! Is that all there is to it?"
The outliner and visualization features are so versatile that I apply ADM to both simple knowledge-organization
tasks and research containing hundreds of individual topics.
Eric Sommer and his associates are adding highly useful functionality
to ADM at a remarkable pace. What's doubly remarkable is that ADM seems completely bullet proof at the same time.
This may be one of best knowledge-management investments you can make.

A Senior Technical Trainer in the Telecommunications Industry:
I have been using ADM since its inception, and from day one it has had a dramatic change on the way
I prepare for my work. As a trainer, I always have a need to have information available to me at a
moments notice; there is no way of knowing what question a student will ask next, and to have immediate
acess to back ground material is fantastic for me.
The ADM GUI is user friendly, largely because of its "Windows" look and feel. But this ease of use can
be missleading because of the hidden power this programme has - just one click of an icon button and
your information can be organised and displayed in many different ways.
As a working trainer I mainly use ADM as a collector of relevant information for each course I present.
My life has become so easy since setting up an ADM template for each course; with the main outlines
holding the course information (Soft copies of the books broken down into individual chapters, slides
and extra background material).
Even using the basic features of ADM make a huge difference to my working day, and the fact that with
each new release new, more powerful options become available makes this programme powerful far beyond
belief.
Another plus is that the programme developers are very open and keen to hear from users regarding what
they would like to be able to do with the programme; if it cannot do something you would like it to do,
email the developers and the new functionality will appear in a future release.
I endorse this product whole-heartedly and would find myself severly disabled if it was removed from me.

A Professor of Management:
Have you ever wanted to organize a vast amount of information you
handle each day? Are you afraid of losing or misplacing important
information? What about times when you wanted to retrieve information,
but you couldn't find them? Do you waste your precious time trying to
find information you stored somewhere? Are you working on an important
report or paper that needs to be logically organized? Are you
collecting tidbits of information or ideas for your next writing
projects?
If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, then you should
definitely investigate ADM 2.0. This is the program that has helped me
increase both my efficiency and effectiveness. I use ADM as my main
writing program, and I haven't used any of my wordproce! ssors for
anything but doing the final formatting and printing.
Download the program and try it out, and you would be pleasantly
surprised and definitely glad that you did.

A WebMaster:
I think you all have done a terrific job of developing a badly needed and excellent data gathering tool
in ADM; certainly V2 is a quantum leap over V1. I use ADM almost every day in conjunction w some other
data gathering programs [frequently overlapping] as it's the only way I can honestly see what works and
what doesn't work for me.
I know ADM is an important tool for people who research and write articles and such. However, I'm not one of
those people and I think it is a testiment to ADM that the program is working so well for me, too. I'm sure
others will also find it useful for many, many tasks. On a daily basis, I gather data from a number of sources
and types, including email, websites, zip files, graphics, etc which I cull for additions to a rather large
non-commercial website I've built over several years and maintain on the 'Bouvier des Flandres' breed of dog.
[http://www.bogartsdaddy.com/bouvier/frames/ in case you are interested]. I gather, sort, organize, combine and
edit a lot of this information withing ADM which allows me to keep it in one place.
As ADM is a developing program, I just wanted to say that in the current build, I think the quick help topics,
i.e. shortcuts, quickstart and things to know is an important addition and should be helpful with the inevitable
learning curve. I also like the new drop down outline menu as I think it simplifies the menu structure in a
logical way. Even for users like me, it's been helpful -- especially the list of shortcut keys.
In fact, while I'm at it, I have to say that I find ADM's overall help system to be extremely useful
and intuitive. It's so context sensitive that it saves all kinds of time just solving the inevitable
question that pops up every once in a while.
I think I am most impressed with the file registration and document functions. The registration function
allows the immediate merging of system on my entire HD [which is rather large to begin with] while the
document function allows me to pull any given topic together in such "presentable" fashion. It offers me
the option of testing a final article w/o committing to it.
I've enjoyed being part of ADM's product development, being in a position to offer feedback and watching
ADM morph -- perhaps I should say blossom -- into such a creative and useful product. Most of all I appreciate
your efforts as an independent development team. I know how difficult that path can be because of my own
professional background in television production but I'm here to tell you that it is also that much more rewarding.
Congratulations to you and your development colleagues. I can hardly wait to see what else is in the offing
from ADM in future versions.
Sincerely,
